Through the work of MedCoast, new courses in Innovation and Entrepreneurship have been created in Västra Götalandsregionen. If expanded to the Oslo Region, the courses would be available cross border.
In the health sector, innovation is a relatively new area. For innovation structures in Life Science, there is a lack of knowledge of
health sector's complexity and culture. This need for knowledge made the project, in close collaboration with Regional Unit for research and development in Västra Götaland, to initiate and develop university courses on ideas and innovation development in the hospital organization The following courses were set up:

Courses for directors and staff
The target groups were directors of one course, and other staff for the other course. The courses provide academic credits and are offered by the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Department of Medicine at the Sahlgrenska Academy at Göteborg University. The courses can be offered to colleges and hospitals and life science cluster in Sweden and Norway where it is currently the only courses with academic credits that provide a basic theoretical foundation and understanding of the development of innovation in health and specific hospital organization.
